
A pedestrian was killed in a traffic collision Friday night on Hopkinsville Street, according to the Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they received a complaint around 8:14 p.m. July 10 involving a pedestrian reported to be walking on a bridge in Nortonville. Witnesses told deputies the pedestrian was crossing from the east side of the bridge to the west side when he was struck.
The sheriff’s office said a vehicle traveling south on Hopkinsville Street hit the pedestrian on the passenger side. The pedestrian, 60 year-old Micheal Stanley, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hopkins County coroner.
The Hopkins County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Hopkins County Coroner’s Office, Squad 2, the Nortonville Volunteer Fire Department and Med Center Ambulance Service.
