The Ohio County Sheriff’s Office is conducting a death investigation and they say a 36 year-old man is now charged with murder.
Jesse Baize, of Beaver Dam, is charged with murder and failure of a person to report a death of a person, criminal trespassing, and tampering with physical evidence, according to a media release from the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office.
The charges against Baize stem from a shooting report in the 15000 block of U.S. Highways 62 East near the Horse Branch community around 3 a.m. Monday.
When deputies arrived, they said they found a man who was dead at a home.
Through the course of the investigation, deputies and detectives quickly identified and arrested Baize and lodged in the Ohio County Detention Center.
Detectives said the investigation remains ongoing and members of the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office are currently searching a nearby lake for additional evidence to the investigation.
