
The body of a missing kayaker has been recovered from the lake at Long Run Park, according to Louisville Metro Police.
According to MetroSafe, Anchorage Middletown Fire and EMS crews responded to a call at around 12:45 p.m. of a person in the water at Long Run Park on Wednesday, July 29.
The park is located about three miles north of Shelbyville Road.
Louisville Fire confirmed that one individual went under in the lake and that a bystander tried to swim out and rescue them unsuccessfully.
The LMPD Dive Team recovered the body of an adult man from the lake at around 7:45 p.m., and a death investigation is being conducted by LMPD’s Homicide Unit.
Investigators are still working to determine the circumstances around the death.
