
A Fayette County man was arrested on charges related to child sexual exploitation Thursday (12/03) after Kentucky State Police served a search warrant at his home.
Xiang Wang, 31, is charged with twenty counts of distribution and twenty counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.
Wang was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. Detectives with the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after observing Wang sharing images of child sexual exploitation online, including images and video of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts.
The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Wang’s residence in Lexington by the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch. Homeland Security Investigations assisted on scene. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s Forensic Laboratory for examination.
Wang was lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center. Each charge is a Class-D felony, punishable from one to five years in prison.
