A single vehicle accident claimed the life of a Hardyville teen just before 8 p.m. New Year’s Eve.
According to the Kentucky State Police, 17 year-old Brett Robertson was driving southbound on Hammonsville Road when he failed to negotiate a curve and went off the shoulder of the road and struck several trees.
Robertson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hart County Coroner’s Office.
He was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident and alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
