A bond reduction request was denied for the man accused in the shooting death of a person who was called his best friend.
Rion Graves, 18, is charged with the murder of 19 year-old Dustin Osborne on April 14.
During his arraignment an attorney representing Graves said his client and Osborne were like brothers and the two men were looking at the gun when it went off.
The attorney for Graves told the court that Graves had been stabbed during a robbery attempt approximately two weeks ago while leaving a store. Graves purchased the weapon, a .22 caliber pistol, after the attack. The gun fired after Osborne had finished looking at it and handed it back to Graves.
A not guilty plea was entered for Graves and request for the bond to be reduced from $100,000 to $50,000 was denied.
Graves will be back in court April 25.
