A Greensburg volunteer firefighter was airlifted to a Louisville hospital after being injured in a motor vehicle accident in Green County Friday (6/3) night.
According to Kentucky State Police, 21 year-old Jared Kelly, who volunteers for the Greensburg Fire Department, was driving a 1995 Ford firetruck on Columbia Highway when he left the roadway and overturned on Edmonton Road headed to the scene of a business fire.
Kelly’s injuries were considered to be serious, but non-life threatening. He is being treated at University of Louisville Hospital. Police believe that speed is a factor in the accident. The investigation remains ongoing.
