
A Meade County man was arrested after a pursuit in Breckinridge County Tuesday (6/7) night. According to the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department, a call was received about a male subject on a motorcycle, who had several warrants out of Breckinridge and Meade Counties.
Around 7:15 pm CDT, Breckinridge County Sheriff Deputy Billy Richardson located the subject and motorcycle on North Highway 259 near St. Romuald. The subject, identified as 38 year-old Robert Eldridge of Battletown, fled from the deputy attempted a traffic stop. The pursuit continued north to Kentucky 2779, where speeds reached between 75 to 80 mph. Eldridge then continued east on Highway 144. He then turned onto Em Early Lane, where at a low rate of speed he lost control of the motorcycle and crashed into a shed.
Eldridge was arrested without incident and lodged in the Breckinridge County Detention Center. He faces charges of fleeing or evading police first degree; failure to or improper signal; possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia along with the outstanding warrants.
