
A Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall traveling exhibit arrived in Breckinridge County on Wednesday (06/15). A procession with the trailer containing the wall arrived to the Courthouse Square in downtown Hardinsburg.
The procession began near Lewisport, the continued through the communities along US 60 of Hawesville, Cloverport, Harned, Garfield, and Irvington before arriving back in Hardinsburg. Residents were encouraged to line the route to welcome the exhibit.
Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall is a 80 percent scale replica of the monument in Washington D.C. and will be assembled Thursday (6/16) morning on the square. The wall open to the public around 12 Noon CDT with a opening ceremony. The wall will be open to the public 24 hours a day through Sunday afternoon. Evening ceremonies are scheduled to take place at 6 pm each night with a with a inter-faith worship services scheduled for Sunday (06/19) morning. A closing ceremony is scheduled for Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pm before the exhibit moves on to it’s next destination.
Limited parking will be near the display and shuttle parking will be located at Breckinridge County High School with shuttles running during the event.
