
A Maceo man was taken to the hospital after a fiery crash last week. According to the Meade County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around lunch time on Thursday (6/16) on Highway 79 at Foxboro Road,
when a 2009 Yamaha motorcycle operated by Leonard Davis was traveling North and lost control and ran off the road and into the ditch line just ahead of a curve. The motorcycle and the Davis caught on fire.
Nathan Taylor was traveling in traffic and saw the accident and quickly extinguished the fire on Davis and the motorcycle. Davis was treated at the scene by Meade County EMS and first responders of the Meade County Fire Department, then was airlifted to University of Louisville by Air Methods Air Ambulance.
As of Monday (6/20), Davis was listed in critical condition at the in Burn Unit at University of Louisville Hospital. The Meade County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by the Brandenburg Police Department.
Meade County Sheriff Chief Deputy Jason Graham said that if it wasn’t for the quick action of Mr. Taylor, Mr. Davis may not have survived the accident.
