
A single vehicle accident involving a semi truck in Grayson County caused the eastbound lanes of the Western Kentucky Parkway to closed about six hours.
Emergency crews were called to the accident scene around 12:30 am CDT Wednesday (6/22) morning near the 109 mile marker between the Leitchfield and Clarkson exits.
As emergency crews arrived at the scene they found a semi truck owned by H& H Truck Service of Ripley, Tennessee overturned in the median ditch line leaking diesel fuel from both saddle tanks.
The truck carrying estimated 23,000 tons of rubber coil, lost control went off of the roadway and struck a rock embankment., which the trailer to over turn onto it’s side.
The driver was taken to Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center by Grayson County EMS for treatment and was later released.
