
Special Elections held Tuesday (6/21) resulted in voters approving alcohol sales.
In Grayson County, voters in the city of Leitchfield voted to the approved the sales of alcohol with 682 “Yes” votes over 524 “No” votes. A local winery was allowed to sell wine on it’s property in the North A Leitchfield precinct by 162 “Yes” over 117 “no” votes.
The city of Whitesville in Daviess County also voted to allow alcohol sales in its wet/dry election. The vote total was 114 for and 56 against. This is the first vote on alcohol sales in nearly four years.
Last time the issue was voted on, residents elected to stay dry by a narrow margin.
