
Emergency crews have responded to several accidents in recent days.
In Meade County, emergency responders were called to the scene of a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Fort Avenue and Viers Lane just before 1 pm Friday (10/28). Two people were taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown by Meade County EMS. The Flaherty Fire Department assisted at the scene.
A short time later, crews were called to a two vehicle accident at the intersection of Rock Haven and Old Mill Roads around 2:30 pm Friday (10/28). According to authorities, one of the vehicles ran off of the road an struck a utility pole. One person was taken to Hardin Memorial Hospital for their injuries by Meade County EMS. The Meade County Fire Department also assisted at the scene. The Meade County Sheriff’s Department is investigating both accidents.
In Breckinridge County, a two vehicle accident sent two people to the hospital Saturday (10/29) afternoon. According to the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Department, the accident happened around 2 pm CDT in the 7900 block of South Highway 259, when a 2007 Chevrolet struck the back of a boat being pulled by a 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe. A woman and her child was taken to Breckinridge Memorial Hospital for minor injuries. The McDaniels Fire and Rescue assisted the sheriff’s department at the scene.
