Rough River Campground Schedules Released

The Us Army Corps of Engineers released the 2017 campground schedule for the Rough River Lake Recreational Area.

Axtel:
Loops A, B, C, D, E, F, & G: – Open April 13 and Close October 30
Loops H and I: – Open May 25 and Close May 29; Open June 29 and Close July 3;
Open August 31 and Close September 6.

Cave Creek:
Loop A – Not available except for overflow when all other campgrounds are full
Loops B, C, E, & F: – Opens May 18 and Closes September 11
Loop E – Opens September 14 (Friday thru Sunday ONLY) thru October 30
Loop D – Open May 25 and Close May 29; Open June 29 and Close July 3; Open August 31 and Close September 6.

Loops B & C: – Opens October 26 (Thursday thru Monday ONLY) thru October 30.

Laurel Branch:
Loop A, B, C, & D: – Open April 13 and Closes October 30 Beach will open April 28.

North Fork:
Loops A, B, C, D, E, & F: – Open May 18 and Close September 5
Group Shelter 1 (located near the boat ramp) and Group Shelter 2 (located on the beach
side) will open May 18 and Close September 5. Beach will open April 28.

Reserve your campsite or shelter online at www.recreation.gov, by calling 1-877-444-6777, at the campground fee booth when park attendant is on duty, or at the Corps of Engineers Project Office for same day reservations when the park attendant is not on duty. This is the first year the shelters are available to be reserved using the same methods as the campsites.
