A man was arrested Friday after an overnight apartment fire in Louisville’s Clifton neighborhood.
According to Maj. Jason Sanders with Louisville Metro Arson Bureau, 26 year-old Darryl Foster is charged with first degree arson.
Louisville firefighters were called to the 2000 block of Brownsboro Road just before 2:30 a.m. The first units arrived minutes later to find a fire inside an occupied apartment.
The Louisville Fire Department said the fire was contained to the one building and damage to other buildings was limited. It took 25 firefighters 42 minutes to bring the fire under control.
The fire displaced one resident of the apartment. No one was injured.
After investigating, officials said they believe the fire was intentionally set, and Sanders said Foster admitted to setting it.
