Authorities say three people have died in a crash in central Kentucky that closed part of a highway for several hours.
Nelson County authorities said two adults and a child were killed in the wreck Thursday (5/11). The wreck happened around 11:30 am in the westbound lanes of Bluegrass Parkway in Nelson County, when a semi-trailer and a passenger vehicle collided. Kentucky Transportation Cabinet spokesman Chris Jessie said the semi crossed the median into the westbound lanes and hit the other vehicle.
The westbound lanes were reopened several hours later, but Jessie said a crash reconstruction team from Kentucky State Police would likely continue work on Friday due to storms Thursday afternoon. No other details have been made available.
