
A midday accident in Meade County sent five people to the hospital near Garrett.
The multi-vehicle accident happened just before 12 Noon Wednesday (5/17) at the intersection of Kentucky 313 and Kentucky 1238 just east of Garrett. Two people were taken to University of Louisville Hospital by Air Methods Air Ambulance for was considered serious injuries. A child was taken to Norton’s Kosair Hospital in Louisville, while the the other patients were taken to nearby hospitals by Breck Central and Hardin County EMS. Upon initial reports, at least one person was ejected from a vehicle and another person was entrapped in a vehicle. The accident closed to stalled the roadway about a hour and half.
The Flaherty Fire Department assisted Kentucky State Police at the scene. No other details have been released as the accident remains under investigation by Kentucky State Police.
