
The Muldruagh City Council met during their regular monthly meeting Monday (9/11) evening.
Police Chief Dale Harp reported to the council the new police vehicle has been equipped and in service assigned to Officer Tim Childs. The departments Impala will be used as a backup vehicle. Chief Harp said that signs will be posted at the basketball court will close at 10 pm nightly. He also discussed the need to keep the area lit.
Assistant Fire Chief Anthony Lee reported that Fire Chief Danny Dresel and Curtis Kelley were in attendance at the county 911 ceremony in Payneville. The department is testing engines and will participate in the Muldraugh Down Home Days.
Public Works Supervisor Anthony Lee reported that over 2,448,700 gallons of sewage was pumped to Fort Knox during the month of August. He said that repairs to the Watts Street sewer project will proceed when the equipment becomes available. Some materials have already been purchased. Lee also reported that the garbage truck has changed routes to help reduce damages to street corners due to the tandem axle on the truck.
The council voted to approve the first readings of an ordinance to form a code enforcement board and proposed 2017 property tax rates. The council voted to accept the compensating rate of four percent.
City leaders approved a resolution to support the separation of the County Employees Retirement System from the Kentucky Retirement System.
The Muldraugh City Council will have a special called meeting on Friday (9/15) at 7:30 pm to possibly have a second reading of the ordinance.
