A man is facing an attempted murder charge after a woman was found stabbed in a Shively apartment complex Monday afternoon.
Shively Police responded to a call of a stabbing at the San Jose Court Apartments just before 1 p.m. on April 20. Officers arrived to find a woman in one of the apartments who had been stabbed.
She was taken to UofL Hospital for treatment and is expected to live.
While investigating the scene, officers were called to the 1800 block of Rockford Lane for a trouble run. There, officers found 43 year-old Rocky McEntire and it was determined that the call was related to the San Jose stabbing.
McEntire told detectives that he “had to hurt someone to get away” and confirmed that he had used a knife. His mother told police that he broke into her residence through the window and told her the same thing. She took two pocket knives from him that police later seized with a search warrant.
What appeared to be blood was seen on McEntire’s shirt.
McEntire was scheduled to be in court Tuesday morning. He is charged with attempted murder.
