A Tennessee man was arrested on Monday after fleeing from law enforcement during a traffic stop in Allen County.
At 6:10 p.m., agents of the South Central Kentucky Drug Task Force attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Holland Road on a vehicle related to a narcotics investigation.
Deputies with the Allen County Sheriff’s Office attempted to initiate the traffic stop, but the vehicle began fleeing westbound. A tire deflation device was successfully deployed on the suspect vehicle.
While trying to elude law enforcement, the suspect struck an unmarked detectives’ vehicle. The vehicle continued through the city limits of Scottsville while the suspect was seen throwing objects out the window.
The fleeing vehicle became disabled on Briarfield, where the suspect, 32-year-old Jordan Johnson of La Vergne, Tennessee, was removed from the vehicle and taken into custody without further incident.
A K9 was deployed for an open-air sniff of the vehicle resulting in a positive indication for illegal narcotics. Upon a search of the vehicle, a large amount of suspected methamphetamine, suspected fentanyl, and marijuana were found.
Upon a search in the area where Johnson was throwing objects from the vehicle, agents located a large amount of methamphetamine and paraphernalia. Johnson was arrested and lodged in the Allen County Detention Center.
He was charged with importing carfentanil, fentanyl or fentanyl derivatives, first-degree trafficking in controlled substance (1st offense > or = 2 GMS methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia – deliver/manufacture, trafficking in controlled substance (1st offense – fentanyl), tampering with physical evidence, possession of marijuana, and persistent felony offender II.
Johnson is also facing multiple traffic offenses including first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief and reckless driving.
