
The Muldraugh City Council met during their regular monthly meeting on (10/9) and worked through a short agenda.
During the public session, Meade County First District Magistrate Tom Goddard complimented the City on the Muldraugh Down Home Days held the last weekend of September.
In the business session, Police Chief Dale Harp reported to the council that signs will soon be erected on the outside basketball court that state the court closes at 10:00 pm. He also reported that recalls on the Explorers are being taken care of.
Fire Chief Daniel Dresel reported himself and Curtis Kelley attended the 911 ceremony in Meade County. The ceremony was well attended. Within the next two years, the ceremony route will go from Meade County Courthouse to Muldraugh Fire Department. The Meade County Fire School was recent with approximately 100 participants. Another fire school will take place in January in the classroom of Meade County Fire Department. The department will participate in the upcoming Trunk or Treat to be held at Meade County Fire Department.
Public Works Supervisor Anthony Lee reported that 3,595,700 gallons of sewage was pumped to Fort Knox in September, averaging 119,857 gallons per day. The highest daily total pumped in September was 550,000 gallons due to a 3 ½ inches rainfall. The Watt’s Street sewer project is approximately ninety percent complete. A cross drain and paving is left to be completed. Lee said a cavern with a one and a half inch cut around it has been found in the area of Dewy Street and Basham Court and could be a possible sewer problem.
The council approved the appointment Pat Reese to a three year term, Steve Hickok to a two year term and Ron Grammer to a one year term on the Code Enforcement Board. The Code Enforcement Board ordinance also calls for two alternate board members to serve in the absence of the regular board members. Code Enforcement Officer Jim Heavrin will present names of citizens that would like to serve as alternates.
Council members discussed plumbing issues in the kitchen at City Hall. Several options will be studied to find the most cost effective resolve to the issue. Mayor Noon expressed his appreciation to all that participated in the City festival. Trick or treat hours are set for October 31 during the hours of 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mayor Noon will be riding with Chief Harp, handing out candy and the fire department will be passing out hot dogs.
The next regular meeting of the Muldraugh City Council will be held on Monday, November 13 at 6:30 pm.
