Governor Matt Bevin supports the bill and tweeted Thursday (3/29) night that public workers owe “a deep debt of gratitude” to the lawmakers who voted in favor. Jefferson County officials they couldn’t get enough substitutes to cover all their classes. In Fayette County, officials said more than a third of school employees were staying home.
Hancock County Schools were closed Friday because at least 50 teachers, about 35 percent of the school district’s teachers, requested leave late Thursday night and early Friday morning.
