A one-vehicle accident Friday afternoon in the Corners area left one person dead and another seriously injured.
According to the Breckinridge County Sheriff’s Office, a 2009 Chevy pickup driven by 20-year-old Andrew Board, of Irvington, was traveling along Kentucky 333 when he ran off the road in the 7500 block and struck a tree, causing the vehicle to ignite.
Board and a 15–year-old passenger were transported to Baptist Health Hardin for treatment of what was described as serious injuries. Board died later at University of Louisville Hospital.
Breck Central EMS, Custer and Irvington Fire Departments and Air Evac air ambulance were among those called to the scene just before 12:30 p.m.
