
The Kentucky State Police is investigating a fatal collision involving a semi-truck and a pedestrian that occurred early Monday morning in Christian County.
Christian County 911 Dispatch contacted Kentucky State Police Post 2 requesting assistance with a collision on Interstate 24 westbound near the 74-mile marker. The incident involved a semi-truck and trailer versus a pedestrian.
Preliminary investigation indicates that 36-year-old Stephen Adams, of Pleasant View, TN, was operating a semi-truck and trailer westbound on I-24. He reported observing a vehicle stopped on the shoulder of the roadway and moved into the left lane to yield.
Upon entering the left lane, he struck a pedestrian who was standing in the middle of the roadway.
The pedestrian, identified as 29-year-old Kenneth Blackley, of Golden Valley, Minnesota, was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Christian County Coroner. The Plymouth Police Department in Minnesota assisted with notifying his family.
Adams was not injured in the incident. At this time, no criminal charges have been filed.
The investigation is ongoing.
