There are new developments in the investigation involving years of alleged child abuse at Ohio County boarding school, Pilgrim’s Rest.
Court officials say charges have been dismissed against Amanda, Christina, Johnathan and Joshua Vanderkooi.
Some of the charges were dismissed against Kelly Vanderkooi after he pleaded guilty to an amended charge of Wanton Endangerment, a Class A misdemeanor, and was sentenced to probation.
The investigation began in 2023 when former students spoke up about alleged physical and mental abuse they say they endured at the school.
Two students said the Vanderkoois used faith to justify their actions.
