The American Red Cross urges donors to give blood or platelets to help counter a seasonal decline in donor turnout this fall.
Donors of all blood types are needed to keep the hospital shelves stocked ahead of the holidays.
From October 27 through November 16, 2025, anyone who donates will receive $20 e-gift card to a merchant of their choice. Donors will also be automatically entered for a chance to win one of three $5,000 prizes.
Every donation helps save lives. Blood is needed for trauma victims, surgery patients, and those living with chronic illnesses. Platelet donation is also important for cancer patients and others whose treatments affect their blood’s ability to clot.
Eligible donors must be in good health, meet age requirements, and present valid identification. The Red Cross encourages donors to complete the online RapidPass questionnaire before arriving.
Donations can be scheduled by visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED-CROSS, or using the Red Cross Blood Donor App.
