A woman was arrested Tuesday after police say she shoplifted from a Thornton’s in Shively on Monday.
According to the arrest report, 21 year-old Raniah Morris made a purchase at the Thornton’s and as she was leaving, the plastic bag broke. Police say surveillance video then shows her taking additional items she did not pay for and attempted to leave the store without payment.
That led to a confrontation with an employee, during which, police say Morris threw a bag of chips at the employee and pointed a handgun at them before leaving the store with the unpaid for items.
The employee reported that Morris stated “matter of fact, I’m taking stuff.”
Morris was lodged in Louisville Metro Department of Corrections and is charged with Robbery, 1st Degree.
