
A stolen vehicle chase through Bowling Green ended with the suspect fleeing on foot and being captured along a riverbank on December 31, according to authorities.
The Bowling Green Police Department received a FLOCK camera alert reporting a stolen vehicle traveling into the city on KY‑185. Officers located the car and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver fled the scene.
The vehicle was later found abandoned in a dry creek bed. The suspect tried to escape on foot along a nearby river but was apprehended with help from Bowling Green Police units, including the Unmanned Aerial Systems Team.
The arrested individual has been identified as 32 year-old Cody Slaughter of Bowling Green. He was booked into the Warren County Regional Jail on multiple charges, including:
Theft of a motor vehicle valued between $1,000 and $10,000
Second-degree fleeing or evading police
Second-degree criminal mischief
Operating a vehicle under the influence, first offense
Possession of a controlled substance, first degree (third or subsequent offense for methamphetamine)
Resisting arrest
Possession of a controlled substance, second degree (hallucinogen)
Possession of drug paraphernalia
He is being held under a $6,000 cash bond.
Several agencies assisted in the investigation, including Bowling Green Police Department’s K-9 Unit (Chase), Criminal Investigations Division, the Kentucky State Police, Warren County Sheriff’s Office, Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife, Medical Center EMS and the Bowling Green Fire Department.
