One hour and 20 minutes before midnight Wednesday, police were called to a McDonald’s on East Market Street, where they discovered the city’s last homicide of 2025.
Louisville Metro Police Department initially confirmed an adult woman died at the scene from a shooting outside the restaurant.
They reported no motive, no suspects, and asked the public for help, especially from anyone who might have recorded video of the incident.
East Market Street is an increasingly popular area for tourists and pedestrians walking to and from shops and nightspots in nearby NuLu.
A check of the city crime map revealed no acts of gun violence in the immediate area in the previous 12 months.
