An arrest has been made after a woman hit a Glasgow Police cruiser on Sunday that injured two people.
According to the Barren County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were asked by Glasgow Police to investigate the collision around the intersection of Simmons Street and Frazier Avenue on January 4.
Investigators say a 2013 Chevrolet Cruze failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with a 2017 Ford Explorer police cruiser that was on patrol.
The cruiser was operated by Officer Jeffery Walker. The Chevrolet was driven by Brittany Runyon of Glasgow. Both Walker and Runyon were treated and released from T.J. Samson Community Hospital for minor injuries.
Investigators say Runyon was distracted by her cell phone at the time of the crash and is believed to have been under the influence of intoxicating substances.
Runyon was arrested and charged with disregarding a stop sign, communication device violation, first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief, failure to produce an insurance card, and operating a motor vehicle under the influence (aggravated circumstances).
