Hardin County firefighters found one person dead after a camper caught fire Saturday morning.
Upton Fire Department Chief Tyler Hiser said crews responded to a camper that was on fire in the 14700 block of South Dixie Highway around 8:45 a.m.
Firefighters were on scene within minutes and found the camper was fully engulfed in flames.
The blaze was brought under control just after 9 a.m. and firefighters later discovered the body of one person inside the camper.
Hiser said the victim’s identity and cause of death have not been released “out of respect for the family.”
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Kentucky Fire Marshall’s Office.
