Governor Andy Beshear and community members gathered Tuesday at TJ Samson Pavilion in Glasgow to announce a $76 million investment by Tate Inc. that officials say is the largest to come to Barren County in around 30 years.
The investment will create 400 jobs as the company renovates a 764,000-square-foot facility to manufacture essential components for data centers.
Tate Inc. manufactures furnishings and components used inside data centers. Beshear said the company’s products are essential to the growing data center industry.
The Glasgow facility will be the largest in Tate Inc.’s global operations, marking a major investment in south central Kentucky.
Brad Campbell, Tate Inc. vice president of engineering, said the company will begin a rolling start as soon as equipment and workers are in place. A small amount of production is expected in the summer and is expected be at full production by early fall.
