Louisville Metro police have arrested a man in the robbery and assault of a rideshare driver.
Quishawn Walker, 22, of Louisville, is charged with robbery, wanton endangerment-discharging a firearm, assault and unlawful imprisonment.
According to the arrest warrant, on October 19, 2025, Walker was in a rideshare vehicle that he had ordered through an app when he got into an argument with the driver. Walker then pulled out a handgun and struck the driver in the face and upper body using the handle of a handgun and his hands. When the rideshare driver tried to end the trip, Walker threatened to shoot him if he didn’t take him to his home.
Once they had reached Walker’s home, the warrant states that Walker demanded the driver’s money and struck him in the head. During a scuffle outside the vehicle, one round was fired from the gun. Neither man was struck by the gunfire, but both men fled from the location and the victim called police.
Walker was taken into custody on February 4, 2026. He was scheduled to be arraigned on February 5.
In addition to the charges in this case, Walker was also arraigned on an assault-domestic violence charge.
