A woman is dead after being hit by a car in Shively early Thursday morning.
A spokesperson for Shively Police said the incident happened around 5:45 a.m. when a woman in her 40s was hit by a vehicle on Dixie Highway at San Jose Avenue.
She was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver remained at the site and no charges are expected.
The Jefferson County Coroner later identified the victim as 41-year-old Joanna Beaver.
All lanes of Dixie were shut down for hours while crews worked the scene.
