
A Kentucky State Police trooper has been sentenced to five years in prison for a traffic stop where he injured another man.
According to a release from Kentucky Attorney General Russell Coleman’s office, 28 year-old Haydon Kilbourne threatened to kill the man during the 2023 traffic stop before using his police baton to injure him.
Kilbourne pleaded guilty to assault and terroristic threatening. He was sentenced Monday to five years in prison, where he has agreed to not seek probation or shock probation.
According to the Attorney General’s office, Kilbourne also agreed to relinquish his law enforcement credentials and to not seek employment with a police agency.
