New aerial video shows Louisville Metro Police used drones to help officers arrest two people in a reportedly stolen car.
In a video posted to social media Tuesday, on February 17, detectives with LMPD’s Criminal Interdiction Division (CID) found the two individuals driving the car near downtown Louisville.
Louisville Metro Police Department said the department’s SWAT team and members of the Drone First Responder (DFR) program quickly assembled to follow the car.
Police briefly shutdown a portion of I-65 South so officers could deploy a “Grappler device” to bring the car to a controlled stop.
Once the car came to a stop, both suspects got out and tried to flee.
Police said one of the suspects was immediately arrested and a drone followed the other, who was arrested a short time later.
Two guns were found as well, and police said both suspects had prior felony convictions.
