
A Clarksville, Tennessee man has died after a crash involving a tractor-trailer in Kentucky just after 6 p.m. Saturday evening, according to the Kentucky State Police.
Police said a southbound tractor-trailer was making a U-turn to go northbound on Fort Campbell Boulevard when it collided with a northbound vehicle.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was trapped inside his vehicle under the tractor-trailer.
The driver, identified as 33-year-old Bernice Franklin, had to be extricated and was taken to an area hospital with CPR in progress. Franklin later died at the hospital.
The tractor-trailer driver, 36 year-old Gerasimos Livieratos of Chicago, Illinois, was arrested after further investigation into the crash. He was charged with failure to or improper signal. improper turning, DUI, possession of marijuana, reckless driving and vehicular homicide when under the influence of drugs. He was lodged in the Christian County Jail under a $26,500 cash bond.
