Owensboro Police Department officials say one of their off-duty officers was arrested after a physical altercation that took place Monday.
According to a press release, police responded to River Valley Behavioral Health Children’s Hospital after receiving a call of a physical altercation involving an off-duty Owensboro police officer and a minor.
Kentucky State Police arrested 39-year-old Christina Butler and charged her with Assault in the 4th Degree (Domestic Violence) – Minor Injury.
Butler had previously been arrested back in November of 2025 on the same charges.
Officials say the department’s Professional Standards Unit will conduct an internal investigation to determine whether any policies or administrative rules were violated.
They say Kentucky State Police is handling the criminal investigation.
