
Kentucky State Police are investigating a fatal crash that left one dead and one injured in Marion County Friday evening.
Troopers responded to a call at around 6:26 p.m. from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office of a crash involving two vehicles on Friday, April 10.
Initial investigation revealed 35-year-old Jacob Buckingham of Bradforsville, Kentucky, was driving south on KY 49 in a 2014 Ford F-150. According to police, Buckingham entered the northbound lane while in a no-passing zone in an attempt to pass another vehicle.
Buckingham then crashed head-on with a 2011 Honda Civic driven northbound by 21-year-old Mason May of Lebanon, Kentucky.
May was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner.
Buckingham was taken to Spring View Hospital with minor injuries.
No information has been released about potential charges at this time.
