A man was found dead in a ditch after a hit-and-run in the Highview neighborhood, according to Louisville Metro Police.
Officers responded to a call at around 11 p.m. of a person down in the intersection of Vaughn Mill Road and Briscoe Lane on Thursday, April 16.
At the scene, officers located a victim described as a “young male” who had been hit and was “obviously deceased.”
The Jefferson County Coroners’ Office identified the victim as 27-year-old Adam Troutman of Louisville.
Initial investigation revealed that Troutman was walking northbound along the right-hand shoulder in a non-lit section of Vaughn Mill Road when he was hit from behind by an unknown vehicle. Troutman was then knocked off the roadway and into the ditch line.
Police say the occupants of the vehicle did not stop to check on the 27-year-old before driving away.
There are no known suspects at this time.
