A escaped Nelson County Correctional Center inmate was taken into custody Saturday.
Nelson County Jailer Justin Hall said that Nation walked away from the inmate work program around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14. Nation was serving a 12-month sentence and scheduled to be released in November, according to Hall.
However, because of the walk-off, he will face additional charges and could face up to five more years of incarceration
Nation is first of two Nelson County inmates that have been detained by authorities. Police are still searching for 29 year-old Ja’wan McKnight who escaped a transit vehicle upon arrival at the Nelson County Detention Center on Friday, April 10.
