
The inmate who escaped while being transported to the Nelson County Jail two weeks ago is now in custody, according to Bardstown Police.
Jawan McKnight, 28, was being brought in to the Nelson County Jail from another county when he fled from the transport vehicle on foot as it arrived at the jail on Friday, April 10.
According to Bardstown Police Department, McKnight was apprehended on Saturday, April 25, following a 15-day search.
McKnight is now being charged with contempt of court, failure to appear, trafficking in a controlled substance, persistent felony offender, promoting contraband and assault.
