A Prospect home was damaged after being struck by lightning and catching fire Monday night.
Crews with North Oldham Fire Department were dispatched at 7:06 p.m. on April 27 to a house in the Cardinal Harbor neighborhood. When they arrived just after 7:10, they found the house had flames through the roof.
According to North Oldham Fire Department Chief Jim Sohan, it took 46 firefighters from North Oldham, South Oldham, LaGrange and Anchorage-Middletown fire departments about two hours to control the blaze.
The rainy and windy conditions plus the tornado warning made it more difficult for crews to work the fire.
Over 12 hours later, crews were still on the scene checking for hot spots.
