A bicyclist who died after being trapped under a vehicle in a crash Monday night in Louisville’s Pleasure Ridge Park neighborhood was identified Wednesday.
According to the Louisville Metro Police Department, officers were dispatched around 8:20 p.m. to the 4900 block of West Pages Lane on a report of a crash involving a bicyclist.
Police said a man was riding his bike on West Pages Lane when he was hit by a vehicle driving in the same direction.
On Wednesday, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified the bicyclist as 41-year-old Michael Stilger.
police said when Stilger was hit, he lost control of his bike and became trapped under the vehicle. The vehicle continued driving for “a distance” before the driver stopped and called for for help.
Pleasure Ridge Park EMS and fire crews responded to the scene, where they pronounced Stilger dead.
LMPD’s Traffic Unit is investigating and will consult with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office to determine whether any charges will be filed.
