
A man has been arrested after a deadly shooting in the Shawnee neighborhood Friday evening.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 600 block of South 38th Street just after 9:30 p.m., according to Louisville Metro Police Department spokesperson Dwight Mitchell.
When officers arrived, they found a man who had been shot. Officials said the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Early investigation shows the man had been shot by a “known suspect” who fled the area. Soon after the shooting, police said he surrendered to Louisville Metro Police and is now in custody.
Saturday morning, Louisville Metro Police Department announced that 27-year-old Jared Fields has been charged with 2nd degree manslaughter.
LMPD’s Homicide Unit is handling the ongoing investigation.
