
A woman has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in the Park Hill neighborhood, according to Louisville Metro Police.
Officers responded to a call of a shooting in the area of 13th Street and Brashear on Saturday, April 25. At the scene, they found a 50-year-old man who had been shot and was eventually declared dead by EMS.
On Wednesday, May 6, Louisville Metro Police Department announced that the Homicide Unit arrested 22-year-old Alexis Morales in connection with the shooting.
According to Morales’ arrest citation, investigators conducted a search warrant on the day of the arrest in the 1600 block of Bulger Court after reviewing video surveillance of the shooting, and found a Taurus G2C 9m handgun at the address.
The weapon was test-fired, and an investigative lead was developed linking to the bullet casing found at the scene.
The citation states that Morales provided a statement to investigators admitting to shooting the victim, and confirmed that the gun found was the one used during the incident.
Morales has been charged with murder and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, May 7, at 9 a.m.
