A man was arrested Wednesday after Louisville police recovered drugs and guns in a narcotics investigation in southwest Jefferson County.
Louisville Metro Police’s 3rd Division officers arrested 44-year-old Ronnie G. Whaley on charges of trafficking and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, according to a release on social media.
Police said Whaley consented to a search of his house “without incident,” and officers found nearly a kilo of heroin, drug paraphernalia and multiple guns.
According to the arrest citation, officers stopped Whaley in his car outside his home on suspicion of involvement in a drug trafficking investigation.
Whaley allowed investigators into his house where they recovered a backpack with five bags of heroin and other drug equipment. The citation said officers found another bag with a gun in it, along with other guns around the home.
According to court documents, Whaley has a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 15 at 9 a.m. His bond is set at $100,000.
