A transportation and supply chain company is expanding into Bullitt County with plans for a new regional logistics campus.
The campus is expected to bring more than $113 million in investment and create 64 jobs.
Averitt will build a new regional operation along the Interstate 65 corridor in Hillview, while retaining 182 employees at its current Louisville-area facility.
The Tennessee-based company said the campus will combine all five of its service divisions into one operation, including trucking, distribution, fulfillment and logistics services.
Plans for the development include:
A two-story office and training center
A 100-door cross-dock facility
More than 286,000 square feet of warehouse space
Parking for more than 300 trailers
Driver support, fueling and maintenance facilities
Construction is expected to begin immediately, with completion projected in 2028.
Company leaders said the expansion will help meet growing freight demand in the Louisville region and across the South.
New jobs are expected to include drivers, dock workers, diesel mechanics, sales and administrative support positions. Officials said many of the roles will not require a college degree and will include on-the-job training opportunities.
State officials preliminarily approved up to $2 million in tax incentives for the project through the Kentucky Business Investment program.
