Kentucky State Police Post 3 received a request for assistance from the Cave City Police Department regarding a fatal collision around 9 p.m. Saturday (05/09).
A preliminary investigation indicates that 65 year-old King Martin, of Cave City, was operating a bicycle southbound in the 1200 block of US 31W in Barren County. A 2024 Nissan Murano, operated by 49 year-old Phillip West of Horse Cave, was also traveling southbound when the front end of the vehicle struck Martin’s bicycle.
Martin was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Barren County Coroner’s Office.
The ongoing investigation is being led by Detective Bo Hubbard.
Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by the Cave City Police Department, Barren County EMS, the Barren County Coroner’s Office. The collision remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
