
On Monday, May 11, Louisville Metro Police Department’s traffic unit learned that an adult male passenger who was involved in a moped accident on Friday succumbed to his injuries at University Hospital.
On Friday, May 8, at around 2:25 p.m., police, EMS, and fire were notified of a single motor vehicle collision involving a moped occupied by two adult males. The moped was traveling northbound on Blankenbaker Parkway when the moped operator lost control and struck a concrete median, resulting in both passengers being thrown from the vehicle. The driver and passenger were transported to University Hospital on Friday, with the passenger’s injuries being critical. The passenger has now died.
No other vehicles were involved. No identification on the passenger has been released yet.
Both individuals were wearing helmets.
